Nuclear Advocacy Network

What is going on? U.S. WIN member, the nuclear industry needs your help in securing the increased federal loan guarantee volume proposed by President Obama. Your Senator, Senator Frank Lautenberg, is a member of the Senate Energy & Water Appropriations Subcommittee which will be determining the budget for the Department of Energy for the next year, including a $36 billion increase in loan guarantee volume for U.S. nuclear energy facilities. The Energy Department's current program for new nuclear energy is insufficient to provide financial support to all of the projects that are currently moving forward creating jobs and meeting rising energy demand with clean electricity generation.

How can I take action? We anticipate the Senate Appropriations Committee will begin mark-up of the President's budget request in the next 6 weeks. Please call Senator Lautenberg at (202) 224-3224 and urge him to support the President's loan guarantee volume increase!NAN Federal Loan Guarantee Talking Points
